It feels like it has been forever that I have written about the 9rules Network. In my last major post I looked at their recent redesign, and that created a great conversation about 9rules, and what they hope to achieve with their network.

This time I would like to talk about their new “rules” they have put in place. I am not a person that likes the rules of anything to be changed part way into something, and so I think that they should be very open with every move they make over the next while.

They have really only added two major rules and they are as follows:

The rules, while very fair, are going to gain the network a fair amount of criticism if they don’t handle it well. Already they have removed Girlspoke from the 9rules network both because of the mature content and being part of another blog network. Did they announce the departure of the blog as nicely as they mentioned its addition? Nope… So for those of you that relied on 9rules to always have that link there for you to find Girlspoke, you are out of luck.

I really hope that the 9rules crew do what is right, and once they get their act together and decide which ones are being cut, to do up a nice post on their blog with the links that will be leaving the network wishing them the best, and sending them off as nicely as they were recieved.
