Canon PowerShot S1 IS

Canon PowerShot S1 ISEarly on in my problogging career, Jacob, my boss, made it a point to get me a digital camera. He let me pick out any one I wanted, and being reasonable, I didn’t pick a digital SLR, instead I chose the next best thing at the time, the Canon PowerShot S1 IS. A 3.2 megapixel digital camera with a 10x optical zoom, and what was at the time, an amazing image stabilization system.

The camera is a bit dated today, but it is still a workhorse.

I have fitted it with two sets of four AA rechargeable batteries, and a 512mb Compact Flash card. I am able to take upwards of five minutes of 640×480 video with sound using this machine, and even better, I am able to still use its zoom, which is completely silent. An amazing camera, even today.
