A little bit of a Star Trek pun in the title, but in all seriousness, I have asked my girlfriend of three years, Sabine, to marry me, and she said “yes”.
We don’t have a date for the wedding yet, though it might be September 16th next year or the year after.
Both of us are excited about taking this next step in our relationship, and I also wanted to thank everyone for the well wishings so far.
Today we are going to have a fun day and enjoy our first day as an engaged couple. (I know its not that different, but still…)

For some, 3 years is too long. I think it is a good amount of time to really be able to make a decision like this. Great news!

Thanks everyone. It’s a big step, but we are excited. I think three years was perfect, though we have probably been ready for the last year, the opportunity just had not presented itself.

Congrats,
I find it funny that there are more cheating related ads on this post then marriage ads. Shows why the divorce rate is so high in the states, thats why Canadians make the best lovers.
So you Canadian luv bugs, got at it! and Mulitply!!

A big whomping congrats! Having gotten married myself this year, I know how exciting it is.
Just remember… up to the big day, pace yourselves. And ask for lots of help in organising.

And heck, three years is nothing.
We were together eight years before getting engaged.
Talk about “test run”.

I’m glad to hear things are doing a lot better for you Dave. I hope things continue to do so. You deserve it!

Congratulations! I seldom hear good news on the net these days. Finding the right person for you is difficult, especially when every other person in the world’s finding their right persons too. I’m glad for you.
