Update (March 23rd, 2007): International Orders as I knew it, is no more. A new company has bought the domain and a new company has been started. The old International Orders is gone. Please don’t let the below review of the old company sway you against buying with the new International Orders, as I will hopefully be trying their new company soon, and let you know how the experience goes, but honestly, it will be easy for them to do better than the old company.
International Orders (www.international-orders.com/) is the most useless company in existance. Over one month ago, I ordered a digital camera from them, and have still not received it.
I orded a Digital Camera from them because they had it on for a good price and would ship to Canada from the US. They would handle duty and whatever else.
After two weeks of waiting, I noticed that my order status had not been updated at all, and so I messaged them wondering what is going on. Their reply was an appology for not being able to get the camera from another company, but they would ship it as soon as possible.
Another week, and finally my status was updated, but only saying that they now had the camera, but had not sent it yet. Another e-mail to them, and a few days later a reply saying it would be sent soon. A few more days after that and I had to move, I updated my information on their site. I sent them an e-mail asking them to make note that they have taken so long with my order that I have moved, and I had put my new mailing information in the e-mail to them. Two days later the package is sent out through DHL. Unlike International Orders, DHL quickly transports the camera to Canada, and attempts to deliver it, when I am not at home of course.
A message left on my machine said that they would try again in the morning, and so today, I waited, all excited to finally be getting my camera. I went through more hassle then I care to write but finally it was coming, and then at 10:30 am I started to get a funny feeling. Could my buzzer not be working? Did I miss a call from them? So I decided to call DHL, and low and behold I find out that my address that the package was shipped to was my old address.
I changed the information with DHL, but now have to wait until tomorrow for my camera to be delivered. This is a warning to those on the web, don’t buy from International Orders. Their customer service is horrible, and the delays were rediculous. I could have bought the parts to build the camera from scratch faster than they got it to me.

We just bought the URL www.international-orders.com as the original company went out of business. We would really like this comment removed
Thanks.

Do Not use this Web site, they take your money, then ask for more, and then say the purchase can’t go ahead and withhold a 35.00 service fee. In my case the item sold out in the week they spent mucking around, and trying to get 130.00 shipping out of me! With tranfer charges and the 35.00 ‘Service’ (what a joke) fee the whole excercise cost me nearly 100 dollars and for nothing. BEWARE!!

Sorry, I made a test… the comment should be limited ![]()
So as I just tried to explain : DON’T USE THIS WEBSITE !
I ordered a new iPod Touch 32GB, and didn’t get anything except a last email telling that I am dishonest and I shouldn’t try to abuse them! Actually, they asked me to pay an extra $245 after my order (I passed their status: processing, confirmed, ordered and 3 days later: “on hold”… which means nothing to me!).
My order was $299 (+$75 for shipping) and they just offered me the possibility to send the 8GB or to cancel my order for $35 of service fee (replying that I accepted all conditions, so they can update their prices when they want).
Does anyone know a good lawyer to close this website (to lodge a complaint, I can provide all my emails).
To reply to Tim: I hope that this comment stay still, at least until www.international-orders.com goes out of business again.
BEWARE !

That kind of business is such a scam.
If you’re going to buy something online, get if from an online retailer that accepts international orders. Using one of these third party companies to accept a package and then forward it on to you is asking for trouble.
Here’s a very useful shopping directory for us international online shoppers:
http://www.intletail.com
It allows you to choose the country where you live, and then lists all kinds of online shops (by category of item) shipping to that country.
Very very useful!

In response to this posting, again, that was meant for Comerxia, that no longer exists.
We are a service, with over 100,000 satisfied customers.
As for the link above to intletail ! This is a SCAM, affiliate site.

I guess the biggest question for a company like yours is “Why take over such a bad brand? If you knew you had to deal with all the past stuff, why did you take over the site?”

They were our only competitor for three years. At the time they were put into bankruptcy, they had half a million customers and one billion dollars in revenue.
We bought the website, not Comerxia, the company behind them who had a bad reputation.
Our company is http://www.Go-Global.us

To answer to the 2 comments left by 2 customers with special circumstances.
We are a service not a store. We also accept that mistakes can occur.
We do not hold stock, sell items that are refurbished or second hand and offer an international portal to the highest quality products on the Internet in the US at the manufacturer’s retail price.
We state that we are not responsible for your chosen stores stock availability and that our $35 service fee is non refundable as the time taken to process your order, payment, check stock availability is not free as we are a service not a store, this is what we do, we do not make money on merchandise.
Listed on our website were the ipod’s you mentioned which come in different capacities: 8GB, 16GB, 32GB. It seemed that you had requested a 16GB but that there was a glitch and the pricing for that item listed on the site did not update accurately on your final invoice and gave the price of the 8GB instead.
We contacted you regarding the issue explaining to you that this was a technical issue and that you were to be invoiced the correct price which was listed on the website at the time of your purchase.
You refused to honor the retail price although we explained that we are simply a purchasing/shipping service and not a store, meaning that we do not get discounts, we do not purchase merchandise wholesale or make any profit on the merchandise. We only offer a service to purchase your goods on your behalf just as you would if you lived in the US and went to apple.com to purchase an ipod. We do not “update our prices when we feel like it”, we are not a store and manufacturers/ retailers.
We offered you the only option we could offer which is to send you an 8gb or to bill you for the difference apologizing for the inconvenience.
We stand by the way we handled this unfortunate event. We were not given any other option as you requested to cancel your order accepting our terms and services and our non refundable service fee.
We do not feel we handled your order wrongly. We followed the terms and services to which you agreed to have read, understood and to follow. Mostly we also felt your communication was abusive and sadly yes “dishonest” as you saw the price of your item listed on the website and used the technical glitch at checkout to “blackmail ” your way into a free ipod.
We are not perfect and yet we do have a great reputation amongst our customers old and new and work very hard to stand apart from the other services that some of you refer to as “scams”.
We do expect to service honest customers which in such a case would contact customer service to inform of the issue and mismatch in pricing from the listed retail price to the final invoice price.
We hope that this helped clarify any unfounded accusations made by 2 customers who simply have misunderstood our services and did not read the terms and conditions they had approved to follow.
We do not hide any of these terms, they are listed on every customer support page, terms and conditions as well as FAQs. Our support team is also more than willing to respond to any questions you may have about our service.
I am not sure it is fair to have been judged and threatened bases on 2 customers who did not inform themselves accordingly before contracting our services. I don’t think it is fair to call our sort of business a “scam” either.
Yes there are stores that do provide international shipping and for those who don’t there are services that offer the service, to each his own but reading before “contracting” a 3rd party service is important.
“ignorance of the law excuses no one”.

It is very difficult to read these comments and decide whether or not it’s safe to place an order on international orders. I want an iphone very badly. But there’s another thing holding me back. International orders website says this:
Timothy de Vallee is a highly motivated entrepreneur with extensive international business experience. Timothy was born in Manhattan, New York and educated in Paris, France, as well as, London and Oxford, England. Mr. de Vallee is also the CEO of Go-Global, Inc. an International Logistics and Technology company with offices in London, Paris, Shanghai and Los Angeles. His extensive resume lists top technology companies such as IBM, Apple and Microsoft, to name but a few - covering international ventures in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, and the Netherlands. Also, Western African countries and Asia (Japan, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia).
But if you google this de vallee, you don’t find much of anything pointing to him being some bigshot. there’s barely anything there. Definitely makes this more likely to be a scam. Does anyone know of any other service to get an iphone?

In the May 24 entry above Tim de Vallee refers to intletail.com as “a SCAM, affiliate site.”
What could possible be a scam about that site?
It’s a plain old shopping directory, like all the others that have been on the internet for years. And, yes, like just about every other shopping directory site out there it has affiliate links. What’s the fuss all about? Where is the scam happening?
Just because you’re having customer service troubles with your own site is no reason to slam somebody else’s site.

I know 1 or 2 people who bought from the new “international checkout” company (Mr DeVallee’s) and while their orders took ages longer to arrive than necessary (they were in stock at the original retailer), both received the correct items and were happy with them.
But one thing I have to agree on - The bio of Mr DeVallee may be fun to read, but it’s definitely making alarms go off - usually only scammers would use that kind of overglorifying prose. Also, if you google his name you can find funny references like someone asking about him because he pitched himself to be the ad marketer for IMDb but said a lot of funny things in the pitch ( http://markmail.org/message/k2mlcv2ctbnz5xgr ), also he is calling himself “The Baron”…
Bottom line is, Mr DeVallee likes to talk big, and there is little proof he can deliver. Taking over a bad domain name also doesn’t look like business magic to me.
