I feel blessed. Here is a second great interview for all of my readers. I still can’t believe I was lucky enough to get this, but here it is.

I just wanted to start by thanking you for this wonderful opportunity, I know you are very busy with all your recent aquisitions, and have been working hard to build up your name and thus your brand online.

Jacob: Not a problem :) Glad to see someone’s interested in what I do.

1.) I would love some background on who is Jacob Gower? What makes you tick?

Jacob: I’m just a simple college student :) I go to MTSU and am majoring in CIS. I’m a C student simply due to the fact that I don’t try near as hard as I should. I love UT football and Titans football as much as I love computers. I’m also a big movie freak. I have over 100 DVDs.

2.) Just after adding BloggingPro to your list of sites, you announced your purchase of another one of Scrivs sites, Forever Geek. What drives you to buy these sites, and why did you take these risks?

Jacob: I take these risks because I view them as the investment with the least risk. On top of them being the least risky in my opinion, they are more fun than most other investments. I couldn’t have built my worth up to what it is doing stocks over the past year. I think I started creating, buying and selling sites in about February of last year, so I’ve built what I have in about a year and a half.

I hadn’t planned on buying either of these sites. The opportunity arose, and I just felt the offers were too good for me to pass up.

3.) What keeps you blogging and where do you see your group of sites going over the next year or two? Are you currently looking at adding any more sites to your list? Have you though about hiring some part time people to help in building up your sites postings?

Jacob: I blog because it is extremely fun to do. There’s something very satisfying about people respecting your knowledge and linking to it and commenting on it. It keeps me going and provides motivation.

I’m done buying for now. I don’t think I could handle any more while I’m in school. However, that’s what I said right before I bought ForeverGeek :)

As far as creating sites, I actually just launched a new site with a partner….BlogTopSites. I actually have very high hopes for this one. I also have about 40 domains that are unused that I register when an idea pops into my head. I figure it’s worth it to spend the $8 a year to register a domain just in case I decide to create the idea. You never know when an idea will turn into something extremely popular. I have some other projects in development but I never like to announce those until I’m ready to launch.

I would imagine I’ll hire someone part time sometime next year to help me out with things. I’m really enjoying doing everything right now, so I’m not too concerned about finding any more help right now. And, it’s not bogging me down too much yet.

4.) Who is your biggest online inspiration? Someone you look up to online, or read consistantly?

Jacob: Darren Rowse is definitely my favorite read. He’s the only person I agree with 99% of the time. Anybody that is making “10-20k” on adsense a month has to know what they’re doing. He’s the one site I’ll check whether it’s been updated without checking other sites for updates.

5.) Many people have compared you to Scrivs. How do you feel about that comparison?

Jacob: No complaints there. Anybody who has created what he has in his short lifetime is definitely someone that I don’t mind being compared to at all. I’ve now bought 2 of his biggest former sites so I can see how people would compare us.

6.) I am a big time WordPress user, and when you took over BloggingPro, that was mainly a WordPress community, and was largely driven by WordPress. What are your thoughts on WordPress and its community? And will we see BloggingPro added back into the WordPress dashboard?

Jacob: I remember using Wordpress a year or 2 back and I wasn’t a big fan at all. However, after the install process and transfer of BloggingPro to my server, I’m sold on it big time. The community base just seems so supportive. Pretty much anything you need WP to do, there has been a plugin created to do it for you. As far as BloggingPro being in the WP Dashboard, I actually e-mailed Matt today about getting put back in. He said that it wasn’t going to be put in at the current time. That’s understandable though since I am new to the WordPress scene. However, I have no plans to stop reporting on WP since I’m a big fan of it now.

Well, once again, I just want to take this time to thank you for all the time and effort you put into this, and I urge everyone to check out CSS Vault, BloggingPro, Forever Geek, and Blog Catalog. That list just keeps on growing, am I missing any?

Jacob: Those are the main ones for now. I’m sure there’ll be more in the future though. I’ll be doing this for a while I would think :P
