Sabine and I have been having a little bit of a nesting instinct lately. We have wanted to get our stuff organized for a while and looking nice. Most of our furniture, and whatnot has all been handed down from family and friends, and while that’s great for college students, Sabine and I think we should get passed that.
It started with us getting a new office desk for me. It’s glass and metal rather than wood. I think it suits my personality much more than my old desk did, and has really brought a nice office feeling to my “office”. Thankfully, this was paid for thanks to the warranty I had on the old desk that fell apart in moving to London.
We then grabbed a TV stand and dresser from Ikea when we were in Ottawa. This was charged to credit, but Sabine could not pass it up as there is no Ikea in London, and she really wanted a new dresser. The TV stand was also something she wanted as we were using a small patio table as ours for almost two years.
Next we bought a new television. The one Sabine’s family had donated to us was inverting the colours, and looked ridiculous, and basically unwatchable. We grabbed a Viewsonic 27 inch HD LCD from Costco, which we charged to credit. It is a nice looking display, though a bit small in my opinion.
Lastly, we bought a couch from Leons. It was on sale, and it was really nice. A khaki microfiber couch, that can seat three, and so we charged that.
The good thing is that we now have a living room for entertaining guests, including seating. It was embarrassing having people sit on kitchen chairs or the floor, staring at a 20 inch television with its colours inverted. Sabine is really happy with the progress to adulthood our apartment has taken.
Now if only I was lucky enough to be one of those Visa Win What You Buy people, like on the television commercials.

I wish you luck on being a WIN What You Buy person. I know I would love to be one once I get out on my own and start living the life of an employee rather then a student.
It’s nice to see things are starting to get a little more your way each day. I hope to be as successful as you some day. Good luck and catch you on MSN.

Sounds good. Enjoy! Took me many years to have some nice things. But you both deserve some nice things “to feel good” just looking at them. Hope you win and I’m still buying lottery tickets with lots of hope! Take care. Keep in touch.
