That’s right! While I couldn’t afford to attend Web Directions North, Bloggy Network has agreed to send me out to Northern Voice and mingle with the blogging crowd.
Nothern Voice is an inexpensive conference ($50 CDN for two days) for weblogging and this year will be its third year in operation. With Dareen Barefoot as the main man, I am sure the experience will be great.
From topics like How To Be a Citizen Journalist from Travis Smith and Why Do We Blog? by Darren Barefoot and Alex Waterhouse-Hayward to How to Record a Great Sounding Podcast by Paul J. Garay and “Session To Be Determined” (hey, how’d that get in there?).
Where is Northern Voice? Well, it is in Vancouver, specifically the Forestry Sciences Centre at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, meaning I am thousands of miles away from the conference. Thankfully, a quick search around on the few airlines in Canada and I was able to find a “reasonable” price on a flight out there and back.
So if you are heading out to Northern Voice this February, please leave a comment and let me know. I’d like to meet up with as many people as possible during my short stay.

A great blogging conference just got a whole lot better! I’m super-psyched that you’ll be there.

Dear David,
It is a bit intimidating to be talking on blogging when all I know is only what is necessary. I have yet to figure out how to post a comment in Tim Bray’s Ongoing weblog. I would say I don’t understand over 90% of the technical stuff that is posted here. I look forward to meeting you and learning from you and the others.
